Manchester Airport Terminal 1

Manchester Airport Terminal 1 stands for a multi-purpose building, being the main terminal for scheduled and charter airlines to Europe and further destinations around the world. 

Note that it is the largest and oldest terminal in MAN Airport. 


It is expected that Terminal 1 is going to be demolished by 2022.

The only exception will be Pier B, which will be rebuilt.


Manchester Airport Terminal 1 facilities are split on the following levels:

Level 0 

Arrivals. Some lower gates. 

Level 3 

Check-in. Departures. On the other hand, there are separate access points to boarding gates 1 to 15, 20 and 21 to 32. 

Level 4 

Mezzanine and Lounges. 

Transfer between Terminals 

Terminals at Manchester Airport are connected. Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 are connected through an elevated Skylink walkway. Access to Terminal 3 is available through a shuttle bus or on foot.

Aspire Lounge: Terminal 1. Open from 5:00am to 5:00pm. Services: snacks, Wi-Fi, TV, drinks, among others. 

Etihad Airways First & Business Class Lounge: Terminal 1. Open from 3,5 hours before first departure until last departure of the day. Services: premium food, snacks, drinks, Wi-Fi, showers, TV, Internet Terminals, Children’s area, among others. 

Escape Lounge: Terminal 1. Open from 5:00am to 5:00pm. Services: food, snacks, Wi-Fi, drinks, TV, Internet Terminals, among others.
