Manchester Airport Terminal 2 is a modern terminal that handles both charter and scheduled flights to Europe and destinations worldwide. With a capacity to serve 8 million passengers annually, Terminal 2 is set to become even more advanced with a major 10-year development plan announced in 2015. This plan includes new piers, a larger security hall, a direct hallway to Terminal 3, and the ability to accommodate up to 25 million passengers per year, making it the most developed terminal at MAN.​

Terminal Layout and Levels

Terminal 2 features four distinct levels:

  • Level 1: Arrivals, baggage claim area, and access to transportation options.
  • Level 2: Check-in area, where passengers begin their journey.
  • Level 3: Departures area, providing access to boarding gates 210 to 200, 300, and 211 to 215.
  • Level 4: Lounges and additional facilities.

Walking Distances and Transfers

The terminal is spacious, and walking distances can be significant. On average, it takes about 5 minutes to walk from security to the gates. Terminal 2 is connected to Terminal 1 via an elevated Skylink walkway, making transfers between these terminals quick and convenient. To reach Terminal 3, passengers can use a shuttle bus or walk, depending on their needs.Allow extra time for walking, especially if you have a connecting flight or are travelling with children or heavy luggage.
